Iran's nuclear capabilities have become the focus of western leaders lately. the internet site "foreignpolicy.com" uses this headline:
What Else Is Iran Hiding?
Why the Qom plant could be just the tip of the iceberg.
It seems we should expect a new round of political and diplomatic pressure on the Iranian leadership by the west. It seems what happened in Iran after the recent presidential election and the internal instability that followed it have encouraged the west to put pressure on Iran at this specific time, as if it is the timing the west has been waiting for. On the other hand, Iran's test-firing of balistic missiles seems to have been aimed at discouraging the west of putting Iran under pressure, and sending the west the message that the pressure might prove too costly for them. the relations of Iran and western countries went through a bumpy road after the recent presidential election in Iran, when Iran accused western governments of interfering in its internal affairs and supporting the opposition. Probably in the coming days and weeks more pressure may be exerted on Iran by the west, and this may prove to be a new obstacle in the Iran-USA relations which seemed to be warming after president Obama came to office.
